Chhattishgarh government is going to start distribution of bonus worth Rs 270 crore to 13 lakh families engaged in work of Tendu leaves collection after this Diwali, announced Chief Minister Raman Singh today.
An announcement in this connection was made by the Chief Minister while addressing a gathering of ‘Bonus Tihar’ in insurgency-hit Jagdalpur. On the occasion, Raman Singh has distributed bonus to the tune of around Rs 25.36 crore to 16200 farmers through online mode.
“Displaying its commitment towards farmers, BJP government in the state is distributing bonus for 2016 to 13.58 lakh farmers this year and the bonus for this year will be ensured before next Diwali,” stated Chief Minister Raman Singh.
Pointing out the socio-economic development taking place in Bastar region, Raman Singh said that now, Bastar entered into 21st century and anyone desire to understand the definition of development should visit here to observe accomplished and ongoing developmental works.
On the occasion, Raman Singh dedicated and laid foundation of developmental works to the tune of around Rs 325.28 crore.
“Chhattisgarh government is committed to protect the interest of farmers. Due week monsoon, 96 tehsils are facing situation of drought. Considering the facts, the government has decided to provide compensation to farmers according to the provision of Revenue Boon Circular (RBC) 6-4 and also going to ensure benefits of Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana,” said Chief Minister.
Raman further said that apart from road connectivity, Bastar will soon be linked to other parts with rail and air connectivity and efforts in this regard are underway. Moreover, expansion of telecom network is ongoing with faster speed.
