Ayushman Bharat scheme has covered 50 crore beneficiaries in first 100 days: PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said Ayushman Bharat health insurance scheme has covered 50 crore beneficiaries in first 100 days of its launch.

Modi was addressing the inaugural ceremony of Venus Hospital at Surat today.

He said that beneficiary base of this scheme is wider than the total population of America, Canada and Mexico put together. He described it as a world’s biggest health care initiative and said poorest of poor is now enabled to obtain top-class medical treatment under this scheme.

He also lauded the role of vaccination drive mission Indradhanush in reduction of mother and child mortality. He also assured people that modern hospitals in private sector like Venus Hospital in Surat are being associated with Aayushman Bharat scheme.
