Summit to be more than photo-op: Trump
Asserting that the meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un will be more than a photo-op, US President Donald Trump said that he is well-prepared for the much-awaited summit scheduled to be held in Singapore on June 12.
US President Trump stated this to media persons in a joint media appearance with visiting Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe in the Oval Office.
The denuclearization of the Korean peninsula would usher in a new era of prosperity, security and peace for all Koreans and for people everywhere, Trump added.
Responding to a question over summit, Mr Trump said it is very well possible that the summit could see the signing of an agreement to end the Korean War. He, however, made it clear that he was ready to “walk away” from the meeting if his goals were not achieved.
Mr Abe is visiting the White House for talks with Trump ahead of the next week’s US-N Korea Summit.
