Defence Minister Arun Jaitley has asked the Army to remain prepared to give a befitting reply to any misadventure from across the border.
While reviewing the security situation of Jammu and Kashmir at a high level meeting in Srinagar last evening, Mr. Jaitley also asked the forces to deal firmly with the inimical elements. In the meeting, he along with Army Chief Bipin Rawat reviewed all aspects of the security situation in the state.
As per information received, Arun Jaitley asked Army to ensure smooth anti-militancy operations in Kashmir and maintain highest level of vigil on the Line of Control to stop infiltration. Jaitley reviewed various measures taken to strengthen the counter-infiltration grid along the LoC.
He was also briefed on the close coordination among government agencies towards bringing back normalcy in the region. Defence Minister directed Army to ensure zero collateral damage while fighting militants.
