5 terrorists killed in a gunfight with security forces in Budgam

In Jammu & Kashmir, Five militants were today killed in two encounters with security forces in Kashmir’s Budgam and Baramulla districts . Four militants were killed in a gunfight with which broke out early morning today in central Kashmir’s Budgam district.

The gunfight broke out between militants and security forces in the central Kashmir village of Putlipora near Pakherpora area this morning. The army, paramilitary and SOG of J&K Police contingents cordoned off the area on the basis of specific intelligence inputs about the presence of militants. As the contingents moved closer to the suspected area, it was fired upon triggering a gunfight.

In another encounter at Sagipora forest area in north Kashmir’s Sopore in Baramulla district , security forces shot dead a militant. A police official said the operation was still underway when reports last came in.
