The White House said today that China has been playing a very positive role on North Korea.
White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer said China has been very, very helpful in this process and continues to be.
Spicer told this to reporters when asked about the simmering tension in the Korean peninsula amid fears that the North may test another nuclear weapon triggering a military conflict with the US.
Spicer’s comments came hours after US President Donald Trump called for additional sanctions on North Korea.
Trump said the status quo in North Korea is unacceptable, and the Security Council must be prepared to impose additional and stronger sanctions on North Korean nuclear and ballistic missile programs.
North Korea is a big world problem and it’s a problem which has to be finally solved and now it’s time to solve the problem, Trump said.
