In Syria, at least 14 people were killed and several others injured after a Syrian military airport was hit by missiles.
According to a media, the attack hit the Tiyas airbase, known as T4, near the city of Homs in Central Syria. It said, several missiles struck last night and the Syrian air defence systems shot down five missiles while repelling the attack.
Meanwhile, the Russian Defense Ministry today said Israeli warplanes had carried out strikes on a Syrian air base yesterday.
In a statement, the Defence Ministry said, the Israeli aircraft did not enter Syrian airspace and launched the strikes while flying over Lebanon. However, Israel has not immediately commented on the strike.
The missile attack follows international alarm over a suspected chemical attack on the rebel-held town of Douma.
US President Donald Trump and France’s President Emmanuel Macron issued a joint statement vowing to coordinate a strong, joint response to the alleged attack in Douma, the last rebel-controlled town in an eastern suburb of Damascus.
