One of the close aides of the underworld don Dawood Ibrahim, Mushtaq Mohammad Farooq alias Farooq Takla, was arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation today from Indira Gandhi International Airport, Delhi.
According to the probe agency sources, Farooq Takla arrived in Delhi from Dubai. He is being taken to Mumbai where he will be produced in the designated TADA court for his alleged involvement in the Mumbai 1993 serial blasts. A total of 257 people had died in the blasts.A red notice was issued against Takla in 1995 and he was wanted in cases of terrorist activities, extortion, murder, etc.
Talking to media, Senior advocate Ujjwal Nikam termed Farooq Takla’s arrest as a huge success.
