In Australian Open, Indian tennis stars kicked off their men’s doubles campaign at Melbourne Park. Tenth-seeded Rohan Bopanna and his French partner Edouard Roger-Vasselin are now playing with US-Canadian pair of Ryan Harrison and Vasek Pospisil.

Rohan Bopanna, who is the highest ranked Indian at 19th, will be looking to continue the bright start that he made to the 2018 season alongside Edouard Roger-Vasselin. The Indo-French combine won a couple of matches at the Sydney International.

In another doubles encounter, all Indian pairs of Leander Paes and Purav Raja are now taking on the Georgian-Austrian duo of Basilashvili and Andreas Haider-Maurer.

Paes is one of the oldest players in the Australian Open at the age of 44 and the 2012 men’s doubles champion. Raja and Paes teamed up right before the US Open last year. They have finished last season on a high with two Challenger titles.

Sixteenth-seeded Divij Sharan with his American partner Rajeev Ram will also take on Romanian-Serbian pair of Viktor Troicki and Marius Copil today. Sharan is yet to win a match at the Australian Open but in Ram has reached the quarterfinals at Melbourne Park on three occasions.
