Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that the demonetization is not the first time it was discussed. He said, at the time of the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, a committee had recommended to demonetize notes of 100 rupees and the then minister Yashwant Rao Chavan had approached her with the proposal, but she did not approved it. If she would have been concerned about the country instead of his party, it would have been better to have done that.
Addressing a public meeting in Kullu, Prime Minister again targeted the Congress party saying that the party and corruption can never separate from each other. He said that for 70 years, Congress ruled the country but their leader were only involved in corruption, spreading lies, Communalism, Casteism and nepotism.
Referring to the impact of the demonetization, Mr. Modi said that nearly three lakh shell companies with multiple bank accounts have been shut down. Five thousand companies have been investigated, in which there was a scam of 4 thousand crores. He said that his government is committed to build infrastructure and promote tourism in Himachal.
