
Prime Minister Narendra Modi today assured people of Bihar that the Centre and State government will do everything possible for growth of the State. Mr. Modi was addressing a public meeting in Mokama after laying the foundation stone of various projects worth 3700 crore rupees. He said, the government is working tirelessly to fulfill the aspirations of people from rural India. He said that projects whose foundation stones are being laid will provide impetus to Bihar’s development.
The projects include four sewerage projects under Namami Gange and four National Highway projects. These projects include a six-lane bridge over river Ganga. The four National Highway projects for which the foundation stone is laid include four laning of Aunta – Simaria section and Bakhtiyarpur-Mokama section of NH-31.
In addition, foundation stone has been laid for two-lane construction of Maheshkhunt- Saharsa- Purnea section of NH 107 and Biharsharif- Barbigha- Mokama section of NH 82. He said the road connectivity will bring prosperity to the region. The four sewerage projects include Sewage Treatment Plant at Beur, Sewerage System with Sewer Network at Beur, Sewage Treatment Plant at Karmalichak and Sewage Treatment Plant and Sewer Network at Saidpur.
In Patna, seven other sewerage projects are at various stages of implementation. After completion of these 11 projects, Patna will become a town having 100 percent sewerage infrastructure and no sewage water will drain into River Ganga.
Earlier, the Prime Minister addressed the centenary celebrations of Patna University. He announced that 10 public and 10 private Universities will be made world class universities.
The Prime Minister encouraged students of various universities to come forward for innovations to solve day to day problems. He also said that the country stands in the fourth position in the area of startups and hoped it will be in the top position in the years to come. Mr Modi also visited Bihar Museum in Patna.
