Naxal deputy commander carrying Rs 3 lakh reward held in Bijapur

A cadre of banned organisation carrying cash reward of Rs 3 lakh was arrested by police in naxal-hit Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh today, police said.

The arrested cadre was identified as Punem Sona (30), police said, adding that he was active in the organisation as deputy commander of Local Organisation Squad (LOS).

The 30-year-old deputy commander was arrested from Futapalli jungles falling in limita of Usoor police station limits, added police.

According to police, following a tip-off about presence of ultras in Futapalli forest, police swung into action and arrested Punem Sona. He was carrying cash reward of Rs 3 lakh on his head. He was involved in various crimes including arson, murder, loot and murder attempt.
