Entire security apparatus put on highest alert following attack on Amarnath pilgrims

Centre has put the entire security apparatus on the highest alert following terror attack on Amarnath pilgrims.

Minister of State in PMO, Dr Jitendra Singh and MoS, Home, Hansraj Gangaram Ahir reviewed the security situation with Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti, Governor, Army Commander, Senior Officials of civil administration and police and paramilitary forces.

The two Ministers also visited the Sher e Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences hospital and met the injured Yatris and doctors of the hospital.

Home Ministry said Amarnath Yatra is a unique pilgrimage where persons of one faith perform the Yatra and the persons belonging to other faiths play host in Jammu and Kashmir.

More than 1.5 lakh yatris have already visited the holy shrine. Our correspondent reports the visit of Central Minister stresses the reassurance that the entire country is with all the Kashmiris and all the arrangements for a safe and secure Yatra will continue with renewed vigour.
