There is an unbreakable cultural bond between Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh: CM Sai

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai today attended the three-day 73rd Annual Session of the Greater Maharashtra Mandal held in Choube Colony, the capital Raipur.
He announced financial assistance of Rs. 10 lakh for the successful organization of this grand session.
On this occasion, Chief Minister Sai honored eminent personalities from the Marathi community who have achieved special accomplishments by presenting them with mementos and praised their contribution to the society.
Chief Minister Sai began his address by paying homage to the pioneers of the Marathi community. He said that there is an unbreakable bond between Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh, and this is reflected in the cultural relations of both. Due to being neighboring states, this connection is also more natural.
Referring to the era of C.P. Berar, Sai said that during that time, Nagpur used to be the capital of both regions and people’s representatives were nominated. My grandfather, late Buddhanath Sai, was a nominated MLA and I have fond memories of my easy connection with Maharashtra.
Sai paid homage to the stalwarts of the Marathi society including Balasaheb Deshmukh, the founder of the All India Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram. He said that Shri Deshmukh followed the path he had chosen for life. He dedicated his life to uplifting the living standards of tribals.
The Chief Minister said that it was on this very day last year that Lord Ramlala was seated in his temple. He extended his best wishes to everyone on this auspicious day.
He said that your session has started on this holy day, and it will surely be successful in achieving its objectives. On this occasion, the Chief Minister also released the souvenir of the annual session of the Maratha Mandal.
The Chief Minister said that the service-minded people of the Maharashtra Mandal have a special contribution in the field of education and other public services. The Chief Minister said that by honoring the talented people who ensure their participation in different fields including literature, art, social welfare, health, environmental protection from this platform, we ourselves are feeling proud.
He said that the confluence of the cultures of Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh, brotherhood and respect for each other inspires us to work together for the betterment of society. The contribution of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in protecting Sanatan Dharma can never be forgotten. Our government is continuously working for the development of all sections. With education, health, and the new industrial policy, we are moving towards becoming a developed state with everyone’s participation, everyone’s development, everyone’s trust and everyone’s effort. Such events should continue to be held to know the traditions and culture of neighboring states along with Chhattisgarhi culture.
On this occasion, MLA Shri Rajesh Munat, MLA Shri Sunil Soni, MLA Shri Motilal Sahu, President of the Greater Maharashtra Mandal Shri Milind Mahajan, President of Raipur Maharashtra Mandal Shri Ajay Kale, Dr. Rampratap Singh and Dr. Sunil Kirwai, along with a large number of people associated with the society, were present.
