The Pledge for Environmental Protection Can Only Be Fulfilled Through Our Collective Participation: CM Sai

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai today participated in the Fight Against Global Warming campaign held at the Farmers’ Auditorium of Indira Gandhi Agricultural University.
In his address, Chief Minister Shri Sai emphasized that education is the foundation of development and a crucial link in the comprehensive growth of the nation. He acknowledged the significant contribution of private educational institutions in expanding the reach of education. Shri Sai stated that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the country has set a goal to become a developed India by 2047, and achieving this requires active participation from all of us. In alignment with this vision, the state government has prepared a Vision Document for a Developed Chhattisgarh and is accelerating efforts in that direction.
Chief Minister Shri Sai highlighted that Chhattisgarh, now 25 years old, is celebrating its Silver Jubilee, and during this journey, the state has made historic progress in all sectors. He noted that prestigious national institutions like IIT, IIM, and AIIMS are now functioning in the state, contributing significantly to its development.
The Chief Minister pointed out that the world today is facing the serious challenge of climate change and global warming. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the Government of India has committed to achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2070, and the nation is advancing rapidly in that direction. Chhattisgarh, too, is making significant strides in promoting green energy. The state has attracted investments exceeding ₹3 lakh crores in the energy sector alone under its attractive new industrial policy.
He shared that a massive tree plantation drive is underway in the state, with four crore saplings planted last year. The state government will continue innovative programs such as “One Tree in Mother’s Name” and “Peepal for People” to enhance environmental consciousness.
The Chief Minister emphasized the need to instill environmental awareness in children so they can build a clean, beautiful, and secure future. He praised all teachers and organizers involved in the campaign, noting that only through collective social participation can we ensure clean air, pure water, and a healthy environment. He also appreciated the resolution to plant 1.1 million peepal trees in the coming years, taken by the organizing body.
The event was attended by Dr. Girish Chandel, Vice Chancellor of Indira Gandhi Agricultural University, Shri Subodh Rathi, State President of the Chhattisgarh Private School Operators’ Association, Shri Manoj Pandey, Secretary, and other representatives. Notably, this program was jointly organized by the Chhattisgarh State Private School Operators’ Association and the Chhattisgarh State Cow Protection and Promotion Committee.
