
Delegates from 18 member countries of International Sericultural Commission (ISC) are participating in the 10 day short-term International training programme on ‘Post Cocoon Technology which began in Bengaluru today.
The programme, organised by ISC, was inaugurated at Centre of Excellence, Central Silk Board(CSB) by CSB Member Secretary Dr H Nagesh Prabhu, who is also ISC Secretary General. ISC is the inter-governmental organization engaged in the development of sericulture and silk industry at the global level.
The delegates are from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Brazil, DPR Korea, Egypt, France, Ghana, Greece, India, Indonesia, Iran, Japan, Kenya, Madagascar, Romania, Syria, Thailand and Tunisia.
Capacity building has been one of the focus areas of activities identified for the development of sericulture in new areas. Ever since, the ISC shifted its Head Quarters to India during 2013 from Lyon, France, it has taken up many innovative programmes for the development of Sericulture and Silk Industry from across the Globe.
