‘TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan’ is being implemented with full dedication in Chhattisgarh: Sai

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai today attended a virtual meeting chaired by Union Health Minister Shri J.P. Nadda to review the progress of the ‘TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan’.

He gave detailed information about the work being done in Chhattisgarh for screening, treatment, and diagnosis of TB patients under the campaign started by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi to make India TB-free by 2025. Health Minister of Chhattisgarh Shri Shyam Bihari Jaiswal, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Shri Subodh Kumar Singh, Special Secretary Health Dr. Priyanka Shukla, and Managing Director of the National Health Mission Shri Vijay Dayaram K. were present in the meeting.

Chief Minister Sai said that the ‘TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan’ is being implemented with full dedication in Chhattisgarh. More than 11 lakh 23 thousand 924 people have been screened since the launch of the campaign on December 7.

The Chief Minister informed that under the Nikshay Poshan Yojana in the state, an amount of Rs 1000 is being paid to the bank accounts of TB patients for nutritional diet. So far, 10,447 Nikshay Mitras have been registered in the state to provide nutritional food to TB patients. All 66 community health officers in the remote district of Sukma are registered as Nikshay Mitras.

Chief Minister Shri Sai informed that in the Tokapal area of Bastar division, health workers are widely promoting the campaign through songs and music in the local Halbi language. 963 Nikshay camps have been organized under the campaign.

The Chief Minister said that the targets of the campaign will be achieved within the stipulated time as directed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The participation of the private sector is also being ensured in the campaign so that better facilities can be provided to TB patients. Under private sector participation and public participation, 2 hand-held X-ray machines and 2 True-Nat machines are being used in mobile units by Mallbao Diagnostics. This vehicle is being used as a Nikshay vehicle.
