Swamitva Scheme-A Powerful Initiative to Empower Rural India, says CM Sai

Raipur, January 18

In line with the vision and foresight of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the state government has taken strong steps to effectively implement the Swamitva scheme. The Swamitva scheme is a powerful initiative to empower rural India. The right to property is not limited to the legal ownership of land and other resources but provides individuals and communities with a foundation for self-reliance, stability, and a dignified life. This right ensures economic, social, and personal freedom, especially for the vulnerable and disadvantaged sections of our society. Therefore, making land records transparent and effective is our priority.

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai said this while addressing the Swamitva card distribution ceremony held in Mahasamund today.

Congratulating all the beneficiaries of Swamitva cards, Chief Minister Sai said that today, Swamitva cards are being distributed to 10,850 beneficiaries from 128 villages of Mahasamund district.

He said that the Swamitva scheme will not only clarify the ownership of land but will also reduce land-related disputes.

Chief Minister Sai said that we are using advanced digital technologies in land-related matters, which will enable gram panchayats to be provided with high-resolution digital maps. This will help in the construction of better roads, health centers, schools, and other infrastructure, thereby accelerating the pace of development.

He said that the state government has developed the “Sugam app” to make the registration process transparent and work is being done on the digitization of documents.

Chief Minister Sai said that Chhattisgarh has now received approval for 3.88 lakh new Prime Minister’s Houses. Also, approval will be given for 4 lakh new houses in the future. As soon as our government was formed, approval was given for 18 lakh houses. The survey work for Awas Plus 2024 has now started in the state. He said that I am happy to inform you that now those who have 2.5 acres of irrigated or 5 acres of unirrigated land and those who have a two-wheeler will also benefit from it.

It is noteworthy that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi virtually joined the nationwide Swamitva card distribution program from Delhi today and provided ownership cards of their occupied land to 65 lakh villagers in 50,000 villages. On this occasion, Prime Minister Modi addressed and interacted with the beneficiaries of the scheme.

Chief Minister Sai invited the people of the state to participate in the Prayagraj Maha Kumbh. He said that the state government has constructed a grand pandal for Chhattisgarh residents in a 4.5-acre area under Prayagraj Sector 6. Free accommodation and food have been arranged here.

Chief Minister Sai said that paddy procurement will be done till January 31 this year. More than 132 lakh metric tonnes of paddy has been procured so far and more than 23 lakh farmers have sold paddy.

He said that the difference amount will be provided soon after the paddy procurement.

On this occasion, Revenue and Youth Welfare Minister Shri Tankaram Verma congratulated all the beneficiaries and said that the double engine government is working with full honesty and dedication. Sabka Saath and Sabka Vikas is not just a slogan but a sentiment, and the state government is working under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai to make it meaningful.
