Surrendered naxals should Receive Full Benefits of Government Schemes – Deputy CM Sharma

Raipur, March 22

28 surrendered Naxals from the farthest regions of Bijapur, including Pamed, Palaguda, Marudbarka, and Bhairamgarh, located near the Telangana border, are being provided training in skills development, including mason training and other skills. These surrendered Naxals, who have been receiving training for the past three months, greeted Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma with chants of “Bharat Mata Ki Jai.”

During this interaction, the surrendered Naxals shared their experiences. Among them, Ramlu Bhandari, Arjun Madkam, Somaru Madvi, and Sukhram Hemla, along with others, praised the Chhattisgarh government’s rehabilitation policy. They mentioned that life in the Naxal organization was a misguided and confused life. By abandoning that hollow ideology and joining the mainstream of society, they have found a much better life. They acknowledged that, due to a lack of awareness of democratic systems, they had gone astray, but now, under the government’s rehabilitation policy, they are leading a better life. They are being trained in skills development, enabling them to become self-reliant and integrate into mainstream society.

Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma attentively listened to their experiences and instructed that important documents like Aadhar cards, ration cards, Ayushman cards, and bank accounts be issued at the rehabilitation center itself, ensuring they can benefit from all government schemes. He also took note of their daily routines and directed that prayer and religious activities be included to foster positive energy. He instructed officials to arrange exposure visits, allowing them to explore the outside world, including visits to cities like Raipur and Jagdalpur. Recognizing that most of them are uneducated, he emphasized the importance of adult literacy programs. He also directed efforts to include sports, entertainment, and the screening of patriotic films in their daily activities, while ensuring they have regular sources of income. He specifically instructed the Collector and CEO of the District Panchayat to make special efforts in this direction.

After learning masonry, some individuals expressed enthusiasm about pursuing civil work after training, seeing it as a potential source of business and income.

There was a visible enthusiasm among all the surrendered Naxals after meeting the Deputy Chief Minister. On this occasion, Bastar Commissioner Shri Domon Singh, IG Shri P. Sundarraj, DIG Shri Kamlochan Kashyap, Collector Shri Sambit Mishra, DFO Shri Ranganatha Ramakrishna Y, CEO District Panchayat Shri Hemant Ramesh Nandwankar, Deputy Director Indravati Tiger Reserve Shri Sandeep Balga, and senior officials were present.
