Statewide Broadcast of ‘Didi Ke Goth’ Radio Programme

In a novel and innovative step towards empowering rural women in Chhattisgarh, the Department of Panchayat and Rural Development has launched a special radio programme titled ‘Didi Ke Goth’. The first broadcast took place on 31 August at 12:15 PM and was simultaneously aired from All India Radio Raipur and all other AIR centres across the state. The programme received an enthusiastic response throughout the state.
Through this programme, inspiring messages and guidance were shared by Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, Union Minister for Rural Development, and Deputy Chief Minister & Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Shri Vijay Sharma.
Deputy CM Vijay Sharma listened to the programme in Kawardha district along with local public representatives, members of self-help groups (SHGs), and officials. He congratulated everyone on the successful launch of the programme and said that the success stories shared on this platform would serve as a source of inspiration for other women.
Senior officials from the department also visited various districts and participated in group listening sessions. Panchayat and Rural Development Secretary Shri Bheem Singh listened to the broadcast in Gariaband, Special Secretary Shri Dharmesh Sahu in Janjgir, Director of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and MGNREGA Commissioner Shri Taran Prakash Sinha in Dhamtari, and Director of the Panchayat Department Smt. Priyanka Mahobia in Durg, where they sat among SHG members and encouraged the women.
At the Community Management Training Institute in Serikhedi, Raipur, a cluster-level broadcast was held in the presence of Bihan Mission Director Shri Ashwini Devangan, Joint Mission Director Shri R.K. Jha, and other senior officials.
The primary objective of the ‘Didi Ke Goth’ programme is to connect rural women with government schemes and make them self-reliant and independent. The programme features inspiring stories of successful women from self-help groups, encouraging others to take up self-employment and move forward with confidence. This special broadcast was organized as a group listening event across 33 districts, 146 development blocks, and 580 cluster organizations in the state. Millions of women participated, and the programme generated widespread enthusiasm.
‘Didi Ke Goth’ is not just a radio programme, but a powerful platform that brings to light the struggles, inner strength, and success stories of rural women, driving positive social transformation across society.
