Uttar Pradesh government has decided to provide power connections to five lakhs households within 100 days. The state government has also decided to promote roof top solar energy in urban areas. After viewing the presentation of power department the Chief Minister Adityanath Yogi said, that consumers should not face any problem in getting new connections, increasing their power load and in billing of their power consumption.
He said, that power department should prepare a working plan to give the connections as per target. He also directed that roster of power supply of 24 hours to district headquarters, 20 hours to Tehsil headquarter and 18 to villages must be maintained. He said that to meet out the power demands during peak hours additional power should be purchased on biding basis.
The Chief Minsiter said, that in view of ongoing examinations power supply must be maintained to facilitate the students in their study and in examination halls. He also directed the officials that timing of replacement of faulty transformers should not take more than 48 hours. He said, in urban areas it should be changed in 24 hours.
Asking officials to bring visible change in the working of the department Mr Yogi said, that all non-electrified villages should be electrified under Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Scheme. He said that a working plan should be prepared on priority basis in this regard.
