Telangana, October 30
In a major success to Telangana Police, two key members of Maoist’s Central Regional Committee (CRC) today surrender before police in Bhadrachalam district, police said.
Citing disappointment with naxal ideology, two cadres identified as Doddi Nandu (27) and Sodi Muke (25) turned them before Assistant Superintendent of Police (Bhadrachalam), added police.
According to police, Doddi was active in the organisation as company party commander and carrying AK-47 assault rifle while Sodi was working as party member in CRC-II and carrying an Insas rifle. During the course of investigation, it came to light that Doddi was forcibly inducted into Bala Sangham- an outfit of the banned organisation by DCM Papa Rao when he was just 10-year-old. After working in ‘Bala Sangham’ for three years, he was shifted to village committee where he worked for around 4 years and in 2008, he was elevated as platoon member of CRC-II. In 2009, he was shifted as platoon party member in ACM and eventually elevated as company party commander in DCM.
He was involved in various crimes including attack on coal mine CISF camp at Damanjudi (2009), targeting police and Greyhounds party, torching five vehicles engaged in road construction work near Thallaguda in 2014, firing at Pamed helipad in 016 and others.
