
Union Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs Hardeep Singh Puri has said, a Special Task Force, STF has been constituted to clear encroachments in Delhi. Speaking to media in New Delhi last evening, Mr Puri said, the 15-member STF, chaired by the Delhi Development Authority Vice-chairman, is mandated to identify encroachments and clear them on public land in the city.
He said, the grid of officers will be held responsible if there is any unauthorised construction in their jurisdiction. He said, officials of civic bodies and DDA will face action, including registration of FIRs, if there is an illegal construction in their respective jurisdiction in the national capital.
The Minister said, the Government will also launch a mobile application and a website next week through which people can complain against unauthorised construction activities in their vicinity.
Regarding sealing drive being carried out against commercial activities in the city, Mr Puri said, the government has submitted the proposed amendments in the Master Plan for Delhi 2021 to the Supreme Court.
