Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh today sanctioned, laid foundation stones and performed ‘Bhoomipoojan’ for 169 developmental works worth Rs 62 crore at Balod district. He was addressing a public meeting at famous religious place and Devi Shaktipeeth Jhalmala in Balod district. Dr. Raman Singh added that medical assistance under the Chief Minister Health Insurance Project Smart Card had been increased to Rs 50 thousand from the current fiscal 2017-2018. Earlier, it was Rs Thirty thousand. He dedicated 52 developmental works worth Rs 34.29 crore and laid foundation stones for 111 works Rs 27.66 crore. He dedicated Joint District Office building built at a cost of Rs 22 crore, Panchayat Bhawan (Rs Two crore) Circuit House (Rs 2.18 crore).
Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh distributed material to beneficiaries of various State Government schemes, cheques, pattas to one thousand villagers, Soil Health cards to two thousand farmers and domestic gas connections to two thousand women under the Prime minister ‘Ujjwala’ project. Dr. Raman Singh said that new district Balod district had been reaching new heights of developments. He appreciated the efforts of district administration in launching Digital Classes in Primary and Secondary sections and Balod will be first district which will free the students of school bags. He added that the district will be developed as a tourist centre. Balod is the first district where cashless transactions facility had been provided. Assembly Speaker Mr. Gaowrishankar Agrawal, Women and Child Development Minister Mrs. Ramsheela Sahu and MP Mr. Vikram Usendi and a large number of people’s representatives were also present.
