PM Modi to inaugurate Indian Science Congress in Jalandhar today

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be inaugurating the 106th Indian Science Congress at Lovely Professional University in Phagwara near Jalandhar today. He will also deliver the inaugural address before Nobel laureates, eminent scientists, policymakers, young researchers and school children, from across the country and abroad.

The theme of this five-day mega event is ‘Future India: Science and Technology’. This meet brings together leaders in science and technology from the country and abroad every year and is one of the most popular events for researchers and students of science and technology.

On the eve of the Science Congress, ‘Flame of Knowledge’ rally was organized to arouse the spirit of science and technology among all. Dignitaries from Indian Science Congress Association and University, faculty, staff members and students of the university carried the torch from the main gate of the university to the cauldron situated at ‘Pride of India’ expo arena established at Campus. After addressing the Science Congress, the Prime Minister will proceed to Gurdaspur, where he will address a Public Rally.
