‘One Stop Centre’ set up at Tripura Commission for Women

In Tripura, a ‘One Stop Centre’ (OSC) has been set up at Tripura Commission for Women (TCW) recently. The centre, sanctioned by the Ministry of Women & Child Development, Govt. of India has started functioning in the premises of TCW in Agartala.

The objectives of the centre are to provide integrated support and assistance to women affected by violence and atrocities, both in private and public spaces and to facilitate immediate, emergency and non-emergency access to a range of services including medical, legal, psychological and counseling support to the victimized women.

Talking to AIR correspondent, the Member Secretary of TCW, Aparna De said Ministry of Women & Child Development has sanctioned around 8 lakhs rupees for the centre. Meanwhile, a management committee has been constituted to run the One Stop Centre, headed by the West Tripura District Magistrate as its chairman. Demanding another One Stop Centre for the North Tripura district, state’s Social Welfare & Social Education department has sent a proposal to the Ministry of Women & Child Development.
