Odisha unified command meets to discuss Maoist operations

The unified command of Odisha today met in Bhubaneswar to discuss and formulate anti-Maoist operations in the State. Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi who presided over the meeting of officials of state police, central agencies like BSF, CRPF, and Intelligence Bureau said to media persons that the much awaited completion of Gurupriya Bridge in Malkangiri district will improve connectivity in the region and be helpful in beefing up security operations.

He said barring the Sunki Ghat blast incident, there has been noticeable decline in Maoist violence and activities. Informing media, state police chief K B Singh said discussions were held on development of infra, road connectivity and communication; besides, joint operations, deployment of forces, sharing of intelligence between different states and central agencies.
