Election Commission is going to issue notification for the first phase of two-phase Gujarat Assembly elections today.
Notably, the last date of filing of nominations is November 21, while scrutiny will be held on the next day. The commission has fixed November 24 as last date for withdrawal of nominations.
89 of the 182 Assembly constituencies will go to polls in the first phase on the 9th of next month. Polling for the remaining 93 seats will be held on the 14th.
The counting of votes will be taken up on the 18th of next month along with Himachal Pradesh which went to polls in a single phase last week.
