The Chairperson of National Commission for Women Rekha Sharma has expressed serious concern over increasing number of crimes against women in Karnataka.

She was speaking to media persons after holding consultations with senior police officers in Bengaluru today. Chairperson charged that the state police department is not responding to the notices issued by the commission, which has received 49 complaints from Bengaluru alone on police inaction.

Another 22 complaints were received from rest of the state. She said the state police department is asked to appoint a nodal officer for better and faster coordination with the Commission.
