
The fifteenth session of Nagaland Legislative Assembly which began on 21st of this month was adjourned today. The Assembly Speaker Imtiwapang Aier declared the adjournment Sine die in the afternoon.
Earlier,the session began with obituary reference made by the Speaker on the passing away of Hepong Phom, a former Interim Body Member of the State Assembly. Thehouse observed two minutes silence as a sign of respect to the departed leader.
Discussion on the budget for the year 2017-18 was the main business on the concluding day of the session today. Initiating the discussion, Parliamentary Secretary for Jails, Science and Technology, Hukavi Zhimomi said that the budget presented by the Chief Minister was most unique and realistic and commendable in every aspect.
Saying that the budget cannot be impartial to any state since NITI Aayog has certain criteria to allot funds for all the State, Hukavi appealed to all the section of the people to understand the position of the government and be realistic in their demands for funds and appointments.
BJP MLA, Mmhonlumo expressed that it should be the responsibility of all the Legislative members to judiciously use the funds available for any project to check negative projection of the budget.
