The Madras High Court has asked the lower courts to conclude cases involving motor accident claims within 12 months.
While hearing a case related to accident claims, the High Court today directed the lower courts to avoid adjournments of such cases for more than three times.
It observed that delayed disposal of the cases add to the pain for those affected by motor accidents.
It also wanted the lower courts not to award disproportionately high amount of compensations that lead to prolonged litigations.
