In a first, Jamshedpur district administration is mulling to roll out a hi-tech centralized monitoring system to keep a track of the movement of those who are either infected with Coronavirus or have been quarantined for being in contact with any such person.
The Covid Monitoring and Response System will enable any official to locate movement of any such person through an application called ‘geo-fencing’ and get information like the number of people quarantined in a village, block or district, simply by a click on his mobile phone or computer screen.
“As of now we are working out. Decision will be taken after a test,” said East Singhbhum Deputy Commissioner Ravi Shankar Shukla.
Till date, Scanpoint Geomatics Limited (SGL), who are pioneer in indigenous GIS software, Make in India Company and ISRO as their technology partner have developed Covid response and monitoring system which had been implemented in Agra, Deradun, Uttar Pradesh and Bhagalpur to assist the state government.
At Jamshedpur Gescon Controls will extend service support to Jharkhand customers for implementation on Coronavirus monitoring and response system.
Prasenjit Banik, Assistant Vice President of SGL told this system will create dashboard for monitoring Covid. It will map response capacity and infrastructure of city and district.
He further added that IGIS will track patients with real time data and extend help to authorities to correlate and analyze the patient risk of spread and get actionable by state administration.
It will also help government for post pandemic actions. Target patients need to download IGIS Geo tracker in their mobile and get registered once they are declared to be in quarantine.
According to sources state administration will monitor real time of their movements even with face recognition and geo fencing of patients can be done centrally from control center. It will help government for proper management to fight the pandemic.
