The grand opening of the three-day 46 Inter-Frontier Volleyball Competition inaugurated by Hazaribagh Sadar MLA Manish Jaiswal was held at the Border Security Force (BSF) Training Center in Meru on Wednesday.
The opening ceremony was accompanied by fireworks by BSF constables with a scintillating performance of patriotic songs. The initial match was played between Mizoram, Cachar, and Meghalaya teams.
On this occasion, Jaiswal said that it is a matter of pride for Hazaribagh to host this camp as the center of excellence of the nation. The glimpse of Mini India on this holy land of Hazaribagh has come alive through this volleyball tournament. Certainly, BSF players from 11 provinces of entire India will be familiar with the climate and culture of this district, he added.
According to a press release, on the instructions of Border Security Force Headquarters, New Delhi, 46 Inter- Frontier Volleyball Competition is organized under the guidance of Inspector General (IG) DK Sharma under the aegis of BSF Training Center, Meru.
As many as 11 Frontier Headquarters contingents of BSF deployed all over India are participating here including the volleyball team of Kashmir, Jammu, Punjab, Rajasthan, Gujarat, South Bengal, North Bengal, Guwahati, Meghalaya, Mizoram and Cachar, and Tripura.
