AUJ to promote Lawn Bowls in its permanent campus

Amity University Jharkhand will be ensuring lawn bowls practice in its upcoming permanent campus near new state assembly in the state capital.

 

The information was given by Gaurav Gupta, vice president, Amity Education Group during the felicitation ceremony of Jharkhand Lawn Bowlers who recently brought laurels to the state by clinching medals for Indian team in Commonwealth Games 2022, Birmingham, UK at Amity University Jharkhand on Thursday with their coach.

 

It included gold medalists Lovely Choubey, Rupa Rani Tirkey and silver medalists Sunil Bahadur, Dinesh Kumar, Chandan Kumar Singh and coach Madhu Kant Pathak who is also the secretary general of Jharkhand Olympic Association (JOA).

 

Thanking the Amity family for the announcement of promoting lawn bowls green in the permanent campus, Madhu Kant Pathak promised to support lawn bowls in any of the Amity campuses.

 

Later, in interaction with Gaurav Gupta, the players shared their patriotic feelings after bagging gold medal at the recent Commonwealth Games. Elaborating on their experiences, Dinesh Kumar assured to bring a gold medal in the upcoming 36th National Games scheduled from September end. He said they were warned by the central sports authorities in the camp to bring laurel to the game this time as a considerable amount is invested every time at international levels.

 

Gaurav Gupta on behalf of Mr U Ramachandran, senior vice president of Amity Education group said one should prepare like a competitor and rest like an infant.

 

Professor Dr Raman Kumar Jha, vice chancellor, of Amity University Jharkhand conveyed his blessings.

 

Dr AK Srivastava, senior director, of Amity Education Group expressed gratitude to the players for shining the state’s name globally.

 

Professor Dr Ajit Kumar Pandey, director, of Management and Allied Sciences, Amity University Jharkhand said acknowledged the never giving up spirit of the felicitated lawn bowlers.

 

P Tripathi, registrar, and Dr SA Pandey, Law, director of AUJ conveyed blessings to the players.
