The Institutional Innovation Cell, Amity University Jharkhand organized an MoE-AICTE-supported Impact Lecture Session-1 consisting of two lectures by different eminent speakers on Monday through the virtual platform.
This Impact lecture session is intended to raise awareness about innovation, intellectual property rights, entrepreneurship, and start-ups among students and faculty members, as well as to aid in the streamlining of innovation and start-up ecosystems in the Amity University Jharkhand Campus.
The eminent speaker of the session was Professor (Dr.) Dileep Kumar M Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Professor Strategy, Nile University of Nigeria. He discussed the role of innovation in Business. He further stressed how innovation is helpful in the establishment and growth of business and gave different examples. He mentioned that an opportunity is an idea that is based on what consumers need or want and are willing to buy sufficiently often at a high enough price to sustain a business. He also mentioned that time is an opportunity and with the change of time opportunities also changes, so innovative ideas should be timely.
Moreover, innovation refers to the economic application of new ideas that will be transformed into commerce.
Another speaker was Mr. Ashish Prabhat, Examiner of Patent and Design, Indian Patent Office Delhi. He talked about different aspects of intellectual property and the ways to protect them. Quite efficiently he simplified different process technicalities in patent drafting and filing to faculty members and students.
Professor (Dr.) Raman Kumar Jha, Vice-Chancellor, Amity University Jharkhand said that it will help faculty members and students to know more about Intellectual Property Rights, and innovation it is protection and utilization for new business startups. He mentioned that the Ministry of Education, Government of India is supporting such types of events, and Amity University Jharkhand is keen to participate actively.
Dr. Shreedutta Arvind Pandey, Director, Amity Law School, Amity University Jharkhand addressed and talked about the importance of such events to motivate and guide students and faculty members regarding the role of innovation.
