Kavyarchan, a Hindi Poem Recitation competition was organized by Amity School of Communication (ASCO), Amity University Jharkhand (AUJ) in collaboration with Sahityoday on Friday.
It was part of ongoing Hindi Diwas Pakhwara.
The main objective of this event was to spread awareness about the knowledge of Hindi as language and its utility in the field of journalism.
Chief Guest of the event, Sanjay Seth, Member of Parliament, Ranchi spoke about Former Prime Minister (PM) Atal Bihari Vajpayee, who was also a noted litterateur, and how he influenced thousands of people with his words.
The MP stressed the value of Yoga and Sanskrit in preserving the Indian culture. He mentioned the involvement of Parliamentarians in the Hindi Advisory Committee formed under the aegis of PM Narendra Modi.
” If you speak English, you are considered a cultured person,” he quoted.
He assured cooperation in the promotion of the Hindi language wherever required.
“Two years back we started Book Bank. Over 2.5 lakh books are collected till date for underprivileged children,” stated the MP.
Notably, PM has advised MP Sanjay Seth to begin a toy bank from the used toys of the urban population which can be given to the rural population. It will be distributed on PM’s birthday September 17.
Pankaj Priyam, Founder, of Sahityoday said that we connect literature with journalism so that it can reach throughout the world without any barriers.
Professor (Dr) Ajit Kumar Pandey, Dean (Academics) of Amity University Jharkhand said in academics the word Sahithoday defines the rise of literature, and he mentioned Gurudev
Rabindranath Tagore, S Saxena, Premchand, Mahadevi Verma, and other prominent literary people who affected the thought process of human beings.
As many as 14 ASCO students recited Hindi poems on this occasion followed by poets associated with Sahityoday.
