In Haryana, Jat leaders have decided not to hold their rally in Jind on Thursday, when the BJP chief Amit Shah will attend a bike rally in the town.
The decision came after marathon talks held between the community leaders and the Haryana government in New Delhi last night.
Chief Minister Manohar Lal and Union Minister Birender Singh among others held talks with All-India Jat Aarakshan Sangarsh Samiti led by its President Yashpal Malik.
After the talks, Mr Malik said the Haryana government has decided to withdraw all cases registered in aftermath of violent Jat quota agitation in February 2016.
The Jat leaders had threatened to disrupt Mr Amit Shah’s rally alleging non-fulfilment of their demands.
