Gudiya gangrape case: Court extends judicial custody of 8 police officials

A local court in Shimla today extended the judicial custody of eight SIT police officials, till 28th of this month.

The officials were arrested by CBI in connection with the death of Gudiya gangrape case accused Suraj in police lock-up on 18th August this year.

The CBI presented the eight accused through video conferencing this afternoon.

Himachal Pradesh police IG Z H Zaidi, DSP Manoj Joshi and six other police officials were given judicial remand on the last date of hearing on 3rd October.

This was the fourth time when their judicial custody was extended.

After taking over the sensational case from the state police SIT on 23rd July 23, the CBI has registered two FIRs in the matter and also booked the eight SIT members for eliminating Suraj to save the real culprit.

The CBI would present the status report in the matter before the state high court on 25th October to reveal the name of accused responsible for the crime.
