
In Uttar Pradesh, the government has given nod to draft proposal for giving 24 hour electric power in state by 2018 under ‘Power to All scheme’.
In this regard, an MOU will be signed with union government on coming 14th April. This was decided in the second cabinet meeting headed by Chief Minister Yogi Aditya Nath at Lucknow today.
Jointly addressing media persons, energy minister Srikant Sharma and medical and health minister Siddharth Nath Singh said that 24 hour power supply at district head quarter, 18 hours in villages and 20 hours at tahsil will be visible on ground level.
He said now faulty electricity transformers will be changed within 48 hours instead of 72 hours.
The cabinet also decided to purchase one lakh metric ton potato from farmers at the rate of 487 rupees per quintal. Dues of cane farmers will be paid within 120 days and current payment be paid within 14 days otherwise mill owners will have to face action.
