DMK President M.Karunanidhi is being treated for urinary tract infection and fever. The health of the ailing 94-year-old patriarch is under continous medical care and attention by a team of doctors and nurses from the Kavery hospital, at his residence at Gopalapuram.
President Ram Nath Kovind, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Congress President Rahul Gandhi, CPM General Secretary Sitaram Yechury and many other leaders have enquired about his health. Senior leaders are also paying a visit to his house wishing him a speedy recovery.
DMK working President Mr.M.K.Stalin has asked fellow party workers to abstain from directly visiting the ailing leader as the doctors had advised him complete rest.
Police personnel have cordoned off the area to avoid crowd.
It was on this day 50 years ago that M.karunanidhi took over the reigns of the DMK. He has been a 13 time MLA and a five-time Chief Minister in his political travel.
