Punjab and Haryana High Court has sought a response from Punjab Government on a PIL seeking disbursement of cash awards to students and young sportspersons who achieve first three positions in any state, national or international event.
A division bench comprising Justices Surya Kant and Sudhir Mittal issued notices to the Principal Secretary and the Director (Sports) seeking their reply by November 20 on the PIL filed by advocate HC Arora.
In his PIL, Mr Arora alleged Punjab government is indifferent to implement it’s Sports Policy-2010. Students and young sportspersons, who achieve first three positions in any state, national or international event, are entitled to cash awards under this policy.
