
Despite the clear weather in Himachal Pradesh, there is tremendous cold in tribal areas. Mercury in many areas are running minus 5 to 10 degrees Celsius. Efforts are being made to take out 90 people trapped in the Lahaul-Spiti district due to the recent snowfall.
In many areas of Lahoul-Spiti, Kullu and Kinnaur districts, the mercury has gone down considerably from the point of accumulation and natural water resources have started to solidify. Efforts to remove 90 people trapped in the Lahaul Valley are on the war-footing and the district administration will meeting with Chief Engineer Rohtang Tunnel NM Chandran on today.
Although BRO’s Machinery is engaged in snow removal from Rohtang Pass and the weather is favourable, it is expected to open till tomorrow.
