
Campaigning is in full swing for the forthcoming Assembly elections in Himachal Pradesh. Several senior BJP and congress leaders are camping in the state addressing public meetings at various places.
BJP President Amit Shah will address rallies in Surajpur of Indora constituency in Kangra district and Rajgarh of Pacchad constituency of Sirmour district today.
Congress leader and Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh is scheduled to address rallies in Kullu, Mandi and Kangra districts today.
AIR correspondent reports, the BJP National President Amit Shah arrived in Shimla last evening held meetings with senior party office bearers to discuss election related issues.
Meanwhile BJP has expelled its seven rebel candidates from the party for six years.
These includes sitting MLA from Chamba Bal Krishan Chauhan, two former MLAs Parveen Sharma from Palampur and Hirda Ram from Renuka, D.K.Soni from Chamba, Lalit Thakur from Bharmour, Baldev Thakur from Fatehpur and and Hans Raj from Jaswan paragpur.
Similarly, congress party has also expelled its three rebel candidates Rajiv Gautam from Una Sadar, Shiv Haripal from Kutlehar and Rattan Singh Kashyap from Pachhad constituencies.
