The Central Bureau of Investigation, CBI, has booked two employees of the Medical Council of India, MCI, and a Hyderabad-based medical college in a bribery case. The CBI alleged that the accused abused their official positions by demanding bribes from various private medical colleges for showing undue favour.

The agency alleged that MCI employees Sandeep Kumar and Santosh Kumar conspired with a private person Sushil Kumar and demanded a bribe of 4 Lakh from Shadan Institute of Medical Sciences Teaching Hospital and Research Center, Hyderabad in 2017 for showing undue favour. A CBI spokesperson said, the agency carried out searches at multiple locations in connection with the case.
