BJP announces its first list of 160 candidates for delhi MCD polls

BJP today announced its first list of 160 candidates for the delhi MCD polls. Delhi BJP chief Manoj Tiwari has announced names of 58 candidates for South Delhi, 35 for East Delhi and 67 candidates for North Delhi municipal corporations. The ruling BJP, which has decided not to field its sitting councilors in the elections, has brought in new faces including four Muslim candidates. Five of Akali Dal and one Lok Janshakti Party candidates will contest elections on BJP’s symbol.

There are a total of 272 wards in the three municipal corporations in the city, including 104 each in South and North Delhi municipal corporations and 64 in the East Delhi municipal corporation. The last date of filing nomination is tomorrow and polls will be held on 23 of this month.
