
In Bihar, the Juvenile Justice Board of Patna yesterday held a male juvenile guilty and sentenced him three years each in connection with Patna Gandhi maidan and Bodh Gaya serial blasts. At the time of incident, the culprit was minor.
After hearing the cases, the Board accepted that the accused juvenile was involved in the conspiracy of carrying out explosions in both the places. On October 27, 2013, a series of bomb blasts occurred at the ‘Hunkar Rally’ at Gandhi Maidan in Patna, which was addressed by then BJP Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi. Six persons were killed and over 89 injured in the serial blasts.
Earlier, on July 7, 2013, the Mahabodhi temple in Bodhgaya was rocked by at least 10 bomb blasts soon after the morning prayers. A total of 13 bombs were planted, out of which 10 exploded. Three bombs were seized and defused. Both the terror cases were probed by the National Investigation Agency. The NIA arrested 11 accused in the Patna case and six in the Bodhgaya case.
