In Uttar Pradesh, around 28,000 nominations have been filed for the first phase of three-phased Urban Local Body elections. Scrutiny of papers will be held today.
230 Local bodies, including municipal corporations of Meerut, Agra, Kanpur, Faizabad and Gorakhpur, will go to polls in the first phase on the 22nd of this month.
Tuesday is the last day of filing of nominations for the second phase. Ghaziabad, Aligarh, Mathura, Allahabad, Lucknow and Varanasi municipal corporations will go to polls in this phase.
Friday is the last day for the third and final phase.
