In Uttar Pradesh, State Finance Minister Rajesh Agrawal today presented budget in the Assembly for the year 2017-2018. It is of the tune of around 3 lakh 85,000 crore rupees which is about 11 percent more of previous budget.
Presenting the budget, Mr Agrwal said, priority has been given in the budget to implement the promises made in BJP’s Sankalp Patra issued in Assembly elections.
He said, strengthening of economic condition in the state and fulfilling the basic needs of food, clothing and housing to common man are the government’s priorities.
As per information received, provisions of 36,000 crores rupees have been made for payments from state government to the banks for waving of agricultural loan to small and marginal farmers announced by the government.
The Finance Minister has hoped that 65,000 crore rupees revenue will be achieved through GST during the financial year.
