Assam sets target to provide skill development training to 1.5 lakh youths

Assam government has set the target to provide skill development training to 1.5 lakh youths during current financial year. Participating in a talk show last night, Mission Director of Skill Development Mission, A P Tiwari said that training in various fields are likely to start in August.

Tiwari said that dedicated Skill Development centre and ITI will be set up for the Divyangs in the state.

He said , Chief Minister Sarbanand Sonowal instructed to open Centre of Excellence at various places including Diphu, Silchar and Majuli so that better training could be provided to youths. Mr Tiwari also said , the Assam government will set up a Skill City in the state for which an MoU has already been signed with a Singapore institute. Mr.Tiwari informed , stress has been given at village level by involving local agencies for skill development training.
