In Andhra Pradesh, at least five people died in an aqua processing factory in Mogalthur mandal of West Godavari district under the influence of poisonous gases released from it.
The incident occurred when the workers got into a tank in the aqua factory to clean it early today. Three people died on the spot due to inhaling poisonous gases emanating from the tank. The other two succumbed in the hospital undergoing treatment. The deceased have been identified by the police.
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu spoke to the District Collector over phone and asked him to extend all the help to the bereaved families. Mr. Naidu also ordered Narsapuram MLA, B. Madhava Naidu to personally go to Mogalthur and supervise relief operations.
